Grant Thornton’s global employer brand development took me to Hong Kong at the end of 2009. As it’s a global initiative, we were consulting with a large number of GT people – from countries as diverse as China, Russia, USA, Australia, Spain, Denmark and the UK. What a difference it made having the chance to meet so many great people, and to learn from experiences from such a wide range of places! And when we weren’t talking work, I found myself debating the benefits of having a football club season ticket with a CSKA Moscow fan, discussing the merits of karaoke culture with a tax advisor from Texas, as well as getting tips on who makes the best suits in Kowloon from a Danish accountant.
As for the project itself… well that’s coming along nicely. The next planned stop is Miami.
